Still working on a presentation on the future of the NHS. Last week it felt like trying to do 6 weeks’ work in 2. Thankfully, over this week, I’ve got more adept and, thanks to Mike, we found a process that takes a good amount of the manual creation out of After Effects. Half a vignette took the first week; this week we finished nearly three.
Another thing that really helped speed us up was Mike getting access to After Effects on Wednesday. As far as I can tell there are no built-in collaboration tools in After Effects. We started sending zip files to each other like it was 2005.
Mike started experimenting with using AI to build scripts to create some of the animation. I felt a little worried that he was going to demonstrate that we could have done the whole thing in minutes and I’d wasted my time. It put a simple intro together well enough, but anything more complex was comically unhinged. Maybe a new aesthetic, but probably not suitable for our purposes.
